The Athena Medical PDA is a compact handheld with an integrated 2D scanner, 6-inch display and Android 13. With IP68 protection, a swappable battery, RFID/NFC and 5G, this is the complete PDA scanner for medication and care logistics.
The Athena Medical PDA is a compact, rugged handheld computer for healthcare and pharmaceutical workflows: administering and signing off medication, tracing samples and devices, counting stock. As a full PDA scanner it combines a professional 2D scan engine, a 6-inch touchscreen and Android 13 in a housing that withstands clinical practice. Athena supplies its medical IT from the Netherlands.
The integrated 2D imager (1280 x 800 pixels, 60 fps, laser class II) reads all common 1D codes (UPC/EAN, Code 128, GS1-128, Code 39, Codabar and more) and 2D codes (PDF417, DataMatrix, QR, MicroQR, Aztec, Maxicode). It reliably reads even small codes down to 3 mil resolution, with a scanning depth of field up to 57.5 cm for larger codes. Two dedicated scan buttons make intensive scanning comfortable, and the warm LED fill light works pleasantly at the bedside.
Besides barcodes, the PDA reads and writes HF RFID tags (13.56 MHz) according to ISO15693 and ISO14443A/B, including Mifare and NFC, for wristbands, badges and tags. With nano-SIM + eSIM (5G support), dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the PDA stays online everywhere, even outside your site’s Wi-Fi coverage.
You swap the removable 5000 mAh battery (spare battery included) in seconds, so the PDA works around the clock. The 6-inch display (2160 x 1080) supports glove mode and stylus. Notifications arrive via sound, vibration and LED; the built-in speaker (2 W) and dual noise-cancelling microphones also make the PDA suitable for voice and PTT (push-to-talk).
With IP68 sealing, drop resistance up to 1.5 metres, 1000 rolling cycles and ESD protection up to ±15 kV, the PDA is built for intensive daily use, from -20 °C to +50 °C. The 16 MP camera with PDAF and flash captures situations and documents sharply. Compact (161 x 77 x 13.6 mm) and light (280 g), it fits any pocket.
Combine the PDA with the Athena medical barcode scanner for fixed workstations and the AMT200 medication trolley for a complete registration chain. Request advice via our contact page.
