The Thermo Scientific CryoMed Controlled-Rate Freezer is developed for reproducible and precise freezing of sensitive biological samples. The system controls the freezing rate very precisely to limit damage caused by supercooling and phase transitions. This is essential for mammalian cells, plant cells and cell therapy products, amongst others.
The CryoMed freezer uses liquid nitrogen combined with an air circulation system for uniform temperature distribution. Type T thermocouples measure both chamber and sample temperature without delay. Via the touchscreen, pre-set and custom freezing profiles can be managed. All runs are automatically logged to support GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 processes.
The stainless steel inner chamber and powder-coated exterior are suitable for intensive use and VHP cleaning. Dual solenoid valves ensure controlled LN2 injection and reliable performance at high throughput. Depending on the model, an integrated thermal printer is available for direct documentation.
