The Thermo Scientific Multifuge X Pro family includes 1.6 L and 4 L laboratory centrifuges. This page retains information for an older range that Poly Temp currently lists under discontinued products. Contact us for a suitable current alternative or support with an existing instrument.
The X1/X1R models are benchtop units with capacity up to 4 × 400 mL. The X4/X4R models are 4 L benchtop units; X4F/X4FR identifies the floor-standing versions. R denotes refrigeration. Actual capacity and speed depend on the rotor, buckets, adapters and sample vessels.
X Pro uses a colour touchscreen with storage for up to 100 programs. Auto-Lock supports rotor exchange without tools. MD versions have a different intended-use designation from general laboratory models; select the exact article number according to the required application and manufacturer instructions.
Rotor compatibility must be checked for the exact centrifuge, including approved buckets, lids and adapters. A maximum RCF from one rotor is not available with every rotor. Poly Temp can use your article number, tube format and protocol to identify a suitable combination or replacement.

No. The maximum 25,830 × g is a rotor-specific value for a suitable 30 × 2 mL rotor. Swing-out rotors and other vessels have different limits.
Do not assume a rotor is included with a bare centrifuge article. The quotation must specify the compatible rotor, buckets, lids and adapters needed for your samples.
MD identifies the manufacturer’s IVD-designated versions. General laboratory versions are not automatically interchangeable for diagnostic applications. Check the intended use and full model documentation.
