The n-Laf air shower is a personnel air shower that prevents contamination when staff enter a clean zone or leave a contaminated zone without changing clothes. In this unit personnel are showered in HEPA filtered air, blowing loose particles off clothing and skin before they are carried into the critical area. As a personnel air lock, the air shower forms the physical and aerodynamic separation between a cleanroom and its surroundings.
The air shower is a free standing unit with 100 percent recirculation of HEPA filtered air. Prefilters in class EU4 or H14 work together with H14 main filters, so the air circulates inside the unit and the room ventilation of your cleanroom is not affected. The unit is designed to be built into a wall and to function as a full air lock for personnel between two zones.
An adjustable built in fan at the top pushes the air through the H14 main filter and along the double side walls. Through the nozzles the air exits at high speed above 30 m/s and returns via the prefilters. There are 24 nozzles in total, twelve per side. The lowest row sits just 250 mm above the floor, so the lower part of the clothing is de-dusted effectively as well. With 1800 air changes per hour, loose contamination is removed quickly and thoroughly.
The doors are electrically interlocked and fitted with gaskets and a lowering threshold, and are surrounded by negative pressure to prevent leakage. The doors have windows for visibility and there are signal lamps on both sides. Emergency switches open all doors immediately, so staff can always pass through the lock safely. The unit is prepared for decontamination with VHP or H2O2 for periodic sanitation.
Operation is located on the clean side. The fan, filters, lighting and control panel are accessible from within the unit, which makes maintenance straightforward. In operation the air shower draws 4.5 kW and the connection is 3x16A at 400V. The housing is available in powder coated steel or optionally in stainless steel.
