The n-Safe receiving station from Nordic Labtech is a receiving station for the controlled intake of rodents into an animal facility. It is designed to be built into a wall, so that it forms the boundary between the non-clean delivery side and the clean side of your animal unit. The laminar airflow inside allows animals to be safely unpacked and transferred into clean cages before they enter the facility. This keeps unwanted micro-organisms out and protects the hygiene status of your colony.
The receiving station operates on the principle of a Class II biological safety cabinet. This means threefold protection: for the animal, for the operator and for the environment. Both the downflow and the exhaust air are filtered through H14 HEPA filters. The station runs on 100% exhaust with no internally recirculating air, which minimises cross-contamination between shipments. The vertical flow is 0.28 m/s and the inflow 0.45 m/s, values that fall well within the standard for microbiological safety cabinets.
The glass doors on both sides are interlocked: only one side can be opened at a time, so the barrier between dirty and clean is never breached. The external window is operated from the non-clean side, while both windows can also be controlled via the operating panel on the clean side. The dimmable LED lighting of 0 to 2000 Lux ensures optimal visibility when handling the animals, and the generous working height of 900 mm offers comfortable access.
The n-Safe receiving station is available in three widths: 1200, 1500 and 1800 mm, so the station suits your available wall opening and the throughput capacity of your animal facility. Each version combines a robust stainless steel interior with a low sound level of 53 to 55 dB, keeping working conditions pleasant. The downflow rate is 680 m3/h and the exhaust rate 780 m3/h, on a 220 to 240 V supply.
