The Termaks KB-Series is a range of compressor-cooled incubators for incubating, culturing, storing and drying samples across a temperature range of -9.9 C to +70 C. Because this cooling incubator operates accurately both below and above ambient temperature, the instrument suits laboratory applications that require a low temperature or a stable temperature close to room temperature. Typical uses include microbiological culture, BOD determinations, enzyme reactions, sample storage and controlled drying processes.
The KB-Series uses forced air circulation with a variable fan speed. This delivers a homogeneous temperature distribution throughout the chamber, fast temperature control and quick recovery after the door is opened. An automatic defrost function keeps the evaporator free of ice, so the refrigerated incubator continues to perform reliably even during prolonged low-temperature operation.
Temperature is controlled by a K-sensor combined with PID control, resulting in a stable and reproducible temperature. Operation is via an OLED touchscreen display with PIN protection, safeguarding settings against unauthorised changes. A redundant system with a separate safety thermostat continuously monitors the temperature and protects both the load and the appliance.
The inner chamber is made of stainless steel, making it corrosion-resistant and easy to clean. This cooled incubator is designed to be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly and has a small footprint relative to its internal volume, saving valuable laboratory space.
The KB-Series is prepared for data management and remote monitoring. The Connect function enables data logging and remote monitoring, while an SD card allows local recording. The Termaks KB-Series is available in two models: the KB 9182 with an internal volume of 182 litres and the KB 9400 with an internal volume of 400 litres. Available options include a triple-glazed viewing window with cover, lockable castors, a glass inner door with seal and access ports for external sensors.
