The SpeedVac SRF110 is a refrigerated centrifugal vacuum concentrator from Thermo Scientific, specifically designed for heat-sensitive samples. Firstly, the chamber cools to -4°C, which preserves the structure of proteins, enzymes, DNA and RNA during drying. Secondly, the unit provides heating up to +100°C for faster evaporation of robust samples. Moreover, refrigerated processing prevents thermal degradation and freeze-thaw damage that occurs with lyophilization.
Firstly, the SRF110 is ideal for proteomics, drug discovery, forensic analysis, food & beverage research and molecular biology. In addition, the unit combines centrifugal force with vacuum and temperature control, allowing samples to dry efficiently without overheating. Furthermore, the two-step time and temperature programming offers a post-cool option, so samples remain refrigerated after drying until you collect them. As a result, Thermo Fisher Scientific research demonstrates that refrigerated vacuum concentration at 1°C preserves significantly more LDH enzyme activity (48%) than freeze drying in a lyophilizer (6%) or vacuum concentration at ambient temperature (23%).
Firstly, you choose between three configurations that match your lab. Secondly, Poly Temp supplies the standalone unit, the P1 kit with oil pump and cold trap, or the P2 kit with integrated vacuum system. Moreover, each configuration fits on a standard laboratory benchtop thanks to the compact dimensions (42 × 64 × 35 cm) and weight of 43 kg. As a result, you adopt the SRF110 with minimal disruption to your existing infrastructure.
Firstly, the SRF110 features three quick-start buttons (Program 1, 2, 3) for instant access to your most frequently used protocols. Secondly, you store up to nine custom programs with adjustable temperature (-4 to +100°C in 1°C increments) and two time segments (1 to 999 minutes or continuous). In addition, the safety lid lock with automatic disengagement prevents accidental opening during operation. Furthermore, a mechanical emergency release provides chamber access in the event of power loss.

Refrigerated centrifugal vacuum concentrator from Thermo Scientific for heat-sensitive biomolecules such as proteins, enzymes, DNA and RNA. Temperature range -4°C to +100°C, three quick-start programs and nine storable protocols. Modular design: standalone unit, P1 kit with oil pump and cold trap, or P2 kit with integrated vacuum system.

The SRF110 is used for concentrating and drying heat-sensitive samples in aqueous solvents. Firstly, the unit excels with proteins, enzymes, DNA and RNA. Secondly, it is ideal for proteomics, drug discovery, forensic analysis and molecular biology applications where samples must be processed at lower temperatures.
Firstly, the SRF110 cools the chamber to -4°C, which protects heat-sensitive biomolecules. In contrast, the SPD120 only offers heating with no active cooling. Moreover, the SRF110 prevents freeze-thaw damage that occurs during lyophilization. As a result, research shows that refrigerated vacuum concentration preserves up to 48% LDH enzyme activity, compared with only 6% during freeze drying.
Firstly, the standalone SRF110 includes only the concentrator and the RF132 rotor. Secondly, the P1 kit contains a complete modular setup with the VLP120 oil pump, RVT450 cold trap (-50°C), tubing and condensation flask. In addition, the P2 kit uses the UVS450 Universal Vacuum System, where pump and cold trap are integrated for a more compact setup. As a result, choose standalone if you already have a vacuum system, P1 for maximum flexibility, and P2 for minimal benchtop footprint.
The SRF110 is suitable for non-aggressive aqueous solvents. Firstly, water, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol, isopropanol and n-butanol are approved. In addition, you process PCR buffers, ammonium hydroxide and low concentrations of acetic acid, formic acid or trifluoroacetic acid (0.1-1%). For aggressive solvents such as DMSO, DCM or strong acids, we recommend the SPD140DDA with PTFE-coated chamber instead.
Yes, with dimensions of 42 × 64 × 35 cm and a weight of 43 kg, the SRF110 fits on a standard laboratory benchtop. Firstly, a clearance of at least 15 cm on all sides is required for optimal cooling performance. In addition, 46 cm overhead is needed for opening the lid.
