The Thermo Scientific Wellwash microplate washer automates aspiration, dispensing, washing and linear shaking of 96-well microplates and strips. It is designed for laboratories running a limited number of similar ELISA protocols routinely and seeking to reduce manual variation.
The large colour display and graphical user interface provide control over wash cycles, soak time, shaking speed, dispensing height, aspiration height and aspiration speed. Up to 99 protocols can be stored. USB supports protocol transfer between instruments and export of reports and log files.
Crosswise sweep aspiration operates at two positions across the well bottom, resulting in a specified residual volume below 2 µL. Adjustable wash parameters allow the process to be matched carefully to the plate and assay.
The 2 L wash bottle and 2 L waste bottle are not pressurised. Liquid-level sensors monitor both bottles, a plate sensor checks that a microplate is present and the supplied aerosol cover helps limit aerosol spread. Automatic prime and rinse functions support consistent startup and a clean liquid path.

Standard Wellwash is designed for 96-well microplates and strips. A Wellwash Versa with the optional 1 x 16 wash head is required for 384-well plates.
