The thermocouple sensor records the temperature inside a 4 mL cryovial. You fill a reference vial and insert the sensor into it. The CryoMed Controlled-Rate Freezer uses this value as the sample temperature. This way the freezing profile follows the actual sample temperature.
The sensor is matched to the larger 4 mL vial size. An accurate sample reading ensures a reproducible freezing process. You connect the sensor to the sample input of the freezer. This lets you monitor the freezing of larger sample volumes.
