Description

The Thermo Scientific TX-1000 swing-out rotor is the most versatile swinging bucket rotor for the X4 and S4 Series centrifuges. Moreover, this rotor delivers the highest throughput in its class. In addition, the TX-1000 reaches a maximum capacity of 4 x 1,000 mL and an RCF of 4,122 x g. As a result, you process large volumes in a single run.

Furthermore, the TX-1000 supports the widest range of adapters across the entire X and S platform. Therefore, you process virtually any tube, bottle or plate format in one rotor. Moreover, this rotor offers sixteen adapter configurations: from 1,000 mL bio-bottles to 192 microtubes of 1.5/2 mL. Additionally, you can run up to 196 blood collection tubes of 5/7 mL per cycle.

In addition, you process up to 24 standard microplates per run via four carriers of six plates each. Subsequently, the TX-1000 holds 6 cell culture bags for bioprocessing applications. Furthermore, this rotor offers optional ClickSeal biocontainment lids. Therefore, you process biohazardous samples safely in clinical and pharmaceutical laboratories.

Finally, you switch the TX-1000 in just three seconds thanks to Thermo Scientific Auto-Lock rotor exchange. As a result, no tools are needed for a rotor change. Moreover, you switch quickly between applications such as blood processing, cell culture, microplate protocols or bio-bottle centrifugation.

Frequently asked questions about the TX-1000 swing-out rotor

Which Thermo Scientific centrifuges is the TX-1000 swing-out rotor compatible with?

The TX-1000 swing-out rotor is compatible with Thermo Scientific X4T, X4TR, X4FR, S4T, S4TR and S4FR Series centrifuges. For refrigerated and floor models (X4TR, X4FR, S4TR, S4FR), this rotor reaches a maximum speed of 4,200 rpm and 4,122 x g. In addition, the non-refrigerated benchtop models (X4T, S4T) reach a maximum of 3,800 rpm and 3,374 x g. As a result, the TX-1000 is not compatible with X1 or S1 Series centrifuges.

What is the difference between the TX-1000 and the TX-750 swing-out rotor?

The TX-1000 offers a capacity of 4 x 1,000 mL and reaches 4,122 x g, whereas the TX-750 offers a capacity of 4 x 750 mL and reaches 4,816 x g. Furthermore, the TX-1000 supports larger bio-bottles of 1,000 mL and delivers the highest microplate throughput (24 plates per run versus 16 on the TX-750). Choose the TX-1000 for maximum capacity and flexibility, and the TX-750 when you need higher RCF values or work with rectangular buckets.

How many microplates can I process per run with the TX-1000?

With the TX-1000, you can process up to 24 standard microplates per run via four microplate carriers (SKU 75007303) of six plates each. Additionally, the same carrier accommodates eight deep-well plates per run (two per carrier). As a result, the TX-1000 is ideal for laboratories with high plate volumes, such as high-throughput screening, ELISA protocols or qPCR applications.

Are the rotor cross, buckets and lids delivered together?

No, the rotor cross (75003017), buckets (75003001) and ClickSeal biocontainment lids (75007309) are sold separately. Therefore, you must select the correct combination for your application when ordering. Subsequently, you can also order the required adapters for specific tube, bottle or plate formats.

Can I centrifuge blood bags with the TX-1000 rotor?

Yes, the TX-1000 processes up to four blood bags per run thanks to dedicated bucket inserts. However, for regular to high blood bank volumes, the Cryofuge 8 and 16 with HAEMAFlex rotors are more suitable, because they are specifically developed for blood bank processing. Use the TX-1000 for occasional blood bag processing in combination with other routine applications.

How quickly can I exchange the TX-1000 rotor?

Thanks to Thermo Scientific Auto-Lock rotor exchange, you can switch the TX-1000 in just three seconds without tools. Moreover, this feature provides full chamber access for easy cleaning and disinfection. As a result, you can effortlessly switch between applications such as blood processing, cell culture, microplate protocols or bio-bottle centrifugation.
