Description

Thermo Scientific Forma Steri-Cult CO2 Incubator for high-volume cell culture

The Thermo Scientific Forma Steri-Cult CO2 Incubator is designed for laboratories culturing large volumes of cells. You choose between an interior volume of 232 or 322 litre, the largest stackable incubators in this range. Additionally, the cabinet protects high-value cultures against airborne, waterborne and surface contamination. As a result, your cells grow under constant, reliable conditions.

Maximum contamination control

The in-chamber HEPA air filtration filters the entire chamber volume every 60 seconds. Therefore, the cabinet reaches Class 100 (ISO Class 5) air quality within five minutes after a routine door opening. Moreover, the HEPA filter entraps airborne particulates and keeps the culturing environment clean, a major source of contamination in cell culture laboratories.

External humidification without a water pan

The humidification system uses an exclusive external water reservoir outside the chamber. Therefore, the internal water pan that can cause contamination is eliminated. You monitor the water level at a glance, without opening the outer and inner doors. A blue backlight blinks when the water level runs low.

On-demand high-temperature sterilization

The Steri-Cult runs an automatic sterilization cycle at 140 °C. Subsequently, this cycle reliably destroys mycoplasma, fungi, molds, yeast, bacteria and heat-resistant spores on all internal surfaces. The cycle takes approximately 14 hours and requires no post-cycle cleanup. Additionally, an access code prevents accidental initiation of the cycle.

Standard or CTS version for cell therapy

The standard version includes a dual-beam infrared CO2 sensor and a polished stainless steel interior. The CTS Series adds GMP features: an electropolished inner chamber with a surface roughness (Ra) below 0.4 µm, proven STERIS VHP compatibility, a 4-20 mA data output and an extensive documentation package. Therefore, the CTS version supports cell and gene therapy manufacturing and regulatory audits.

  • Choice of 232 litre (model 3308) or 322 litre (model 3311), both 230 V
  • Standard or CTS version with FAT documentation and compliance services
  • Temperature range from 5 °C above ambient to 50 °C
  • CO2 range 0 to 20% with infrared sensor and a control accuracy of plus/minus 0.1%
  • Stackable as standard, with hardware included

The Forma Steri-Cult fits perfectly with GMP cell therapy and high-volume culturing. Also explore our other incubators, climate chambers and ovens or ask for advice via our Thermo Scientific page.
